Burlesque Dance For The First Time
I’m going to be honest, the first time I tried burlesque dance, I was nervous. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into and I didn’t know what kinds of moves will be taught. But for the love of dance, I was in it and I’m so glad I did. Burlesque dance has a unique power of making you feel so comfortable in your own skin and add some sass and sexiness to your game.
I’m so excited to have Erica teach us burlesque dance because I’m all about women empowerment and babe, this is totally what Burlesque Burn is all about. There’s nothing sexier than a woman who’s comfortable in her own skin and burlesque helps us with that because a lot of the moves are risqué and when you nail them, you feel so good and so fierce!
Pilates, Core And You
Our 15 minute workout starts with a total body warm up which is really important so that you don’t surprise your body with movement. Burlesque Burn is a mixture of Pilates and Burlesque. Pilates will be the basis of our toning so you’ll be doing plank variations, russian twists that will light a fire on your abs. My favorite ab cruncher from this workout is definitely the straddle. It’s hard, effective and a lot of fun too! If you want more of a challenge, add weights to your workout. It’ll make you stronger and powerful!
Burlesque Dance Choreography
Now onto the choreography, babe. Are you ready? I won’t go into details about the choreography so you can experience it yourself, but I want to let you know how I felt about it. I definitely don’t consider myself a “sexy dancer”, but I swear after this choreography I started feelin’ myself on the dance floor. There’s a certain vulnerability about burlesque dance that I love because it gets you loose which helps make you feel comfortable and powerful. It almost becomes a performance, not for anyone else, but for yourself. And it gets rather emotional too because you’re showing off your whole self in this choreography. Who knew burlesque dance could be so deep? ?
