I’m sure you all know by now how much I love my Athletic wear. I wear them so much even when I’m not working out. It’s just so so comfortable. PLUS, brands nowadays have made such trendy tops and leggings you don’t have to look like a gym rat when you go out. Here are some of my fave ways to take your athletic wear from the dance studio to brunch!

Dance Studio Outfit

I want to thank Yoga Club Box for this cute dance studio outfit. I get one box every month for only $79, the content of which is about $150. I really do love their subscription service! You get brand name athletic wear at 40-60% off retail. PLUS, every box you order donates a yoga class to a child in need. Today’s outfit is a black strappy bra top from Glyder Apparel and Black Free People Seamless Raider Leggings.

Cute Tops that Work with Sports Bras

The secret to taking your dance studio look to brunch is to start out with tops that are a bit more “put together.” This helps set the tone of the whole outfit.  You can build the outfit from there.

Chiffon Top:

Chiffon tops look great with any black sports bra and who doesn’t have a black sports bra they love? I love it because my sports bra holds the girls in place and sheer tops are just sexy. I’ve got tons of sheer tops in different colors in my closet. This army green sheer top is from Mimi Chica (similar here ) I literally put the sheer top over my gym clothes. I’m wearing a black bra from Glyder Apparel and Free People Seamless Raider Leggings (more affordable option here). I paired it with my Via Spiga black ankle boot (newer version here) to make my legs look longer and to match the leggings better.

Loose Logo Tank:

Nothing says no-care-in-the-world look like a loose logo tank. I absolutely adore this Brian Lichtenberg cobalt blue tank with Homies South Central. I live close to South Central so it reminds me of home but it’s waaay more gangsta! You can still get his Homies line here. I paired it with my A.L.C. black leather skirt because it makes anything I wear look more badass and navy high top Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. Since you asked, YES I’m still wearing the same black bra from Glyder Apparel. I’m ready to go to a brunch or a rock and roll show. Now if only my dog would cooperate with the photo.

Boat Neck Sweater:

What I love about boat neck sweaters is your sports bra strap can peak and it still looks pretty cool. It’s also a great way to stay warmer during winter (in California). I am wearing  Lorna Jane In The Details pink sports bra (similar here) and I covered it up with my Wilfred Boat Neck Sweater (similar here). I’m also still wearing my leggings from the dance studio. I always get compliments when I wear these dark grey tie on leggings from Free People Movement (similar here). To polish off the look, I paired it with my fave cement pink ballet flats from Top Shop (similar here). I love that I look like I came from the ballet dance studio but I can get brunch too!

Jean Jacket:

I love love a good jean jacket. It’s always hard to shop around for one that has a great cut and is pretty soft, not stiff. I’ve had this BCBG Generation Jean Jacket forever. I found a cute one with vintage wash for you here. I love this outfit because now you can see the straps of my Glyder Apparel sports bra. I intentionally let it peak out of my jean jacket (similar front strap design on a sports bra here). To be extra sexy I paired it with a black skater skirt. I got mine from Singapore and I couldn’t even tell you what brand it was but there’s a cute skater skirt I found here. I paired this with my Valentino Rockstud Pump but any cute heel will work with this outfit.
