A few years ago I got diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. As a short explanation, this means that my hormones are out of whack, I am high risk for diabetes and it’s more difficult for me and my husband to conceive.

Why I Dance
I’ve always loved dance workouts, but it was hard for me to find a studio that fits my schedule and my budget. So like many of the amazing community members I’ve met along the way, I decided to forge my own path by creating Hip Shake Fitness. Not only was I looking for a way to address my health concerns, but I dreamed of a community where people who love dance workouts would be able to come together. I wanted to make dance accessible to everyone — no matter what they were facing on their life’s journey.
Thank You For Dancing With Us
I am so grateful to every single person who has danced with us. Not only have we had a lot of fun, but you have inspired me to continue to discover new ways of being healthy. To anyone out there who is currently struggling with PCOS, or just trying to live healthier. I want to let you know that you’re NOT alone. Thank you for inspiring me every day to keep dancing!
It was exactly a year ago today that we launched Hip Shake Fitness. I wanted to mark this occasion by sharing a bit of my personal story, and how it motivated me to create this community.
