Hip hop dance is the one genre that will ALWAYS get me up on the dance floor. We all have our go to moves and we want to add even more classic hip hop dance moves to your list.
Classic Hip Hop Dance Moves
When I hear a hip hop song, I just have to dance! It doesn’t matter where I am… at home, in the car, at the grocery store, this babe is going to bust a move and feel that beat.
Hip hop dance moves just hit different, doesn’t it? It’s full of swag, attitude and I think it’s the most fun. We all know moves like the Running Man and the Cabbage Patch, but we’ll go through some of my other favorite classic hip hop moves that might not be as popular, but I promise you it’s as fierce as they come. We’ll start easy and master some Body Rolls then we’ll also learn some classic Janet Jackson moves that we can incorporate on the dance floor. Are you ready to bust a move with me? Let’s get it, G.

Body Roll
Let’s start with the Body Roll. I love this move because you can add your own stank to it and go as slow or as fast as you want. The trick I’ve learned is to picture the front of your body as a paint brush and you have to paint that wall in front of you. Don’t be afraid of that lean babe and own that Body Roll.
The Humpty Dance
Talking about classic hip hop dance moves, we can’t forget about The Humpty Dance. This is one of my fave songs and it comes with a dance move too! It’s a criss cross of the legs and a front hip dip and repeat. Do whatever makes you happy with your arms and go in whichever direction your heart desires. That’s part of the fun of this move.
Janet Jackson If Move
“If I was your girl…” I’d be busting out this move all the time! This particular move needs a little more focus than the others because it’s all about those arms. Once you master the arms, then you’ll be able to add this on to your very own hip hop dance routine. Make Janet Jackson proud babe.
TLC Creep Dance Move
Last but not least, we’re doing the Creep hip hop move. You’ll recognize this move from the TLC music video and you’ll instantly be nostalgic of that good ol’ 90’s hip hop. Not only does your legs move at the same time, your arms cross in front and in the back plus, don’t forget that little booty pop too. Rep your favorite TLC gal and Creep all over the dancefloor.
